Service Description

Note: The sessions for this course will run 7:00pm-9:00pm (arrival from 6:55pm) on 29/4/25, 6/5/25 & 13/5/25. The social will be on 20/5/25. The 3 x 2 hour evening classes take place in the Duke of Wellington in Cowbridge. Everything you need for the evenings will be provided from light refreshments to a course handbook containing key information, space for notes and a few handy extras. The course will cover all the essential information you need as well as connect you with up to 6 other local couples. We will cover a range of topics including:​ - Types of birth - Locations of birth - Stages of labour & how to manage them - Support from birthing partners - Birth preferences & birth plans - What to expect from health professionals - Care options - Care of a newborn baby - Feeding options (breast and formula) - Feeding positions and attachment We will of course answer any other questions that you may have. ​ You will have the option of being added to a course WhatsApp group with course delegates. Our aim is that you leave feeling informed with up to date, relevant information, empowered to take the next steps on your journey with confidence, and connected to a support network of peers.
